Plenty of attention for the painter Joop Moesman and the art of surrealism this year, amongst others with the exposition Tranen van Eros in the Central Museum in Utrecht. To start off, an expositian in the Stadsschouwburg Utrecht city theatre: artistic responses to Het Gerucht (The Rumour) by Moesman. With a lecture by Maarten van Rossem.

From April 22 until May 27, 2017, Galerie 62 in Haarlem showcases the group exposition Cityscapes, which includes artwork by Jeroen Hermkens. Address: Zijlweg 62. Open Thu-Sat 11am-5pm.
Abroad
On June 13, 2017, a wall painting concerning the life and works of Desiderius Erasmus will be revealed in the Erasmushuis in Jakarta (Indonesia). The painting, a gift by the Rotterdam dredging company Van Oord, will be revealed by the mayor of Rotterdam, Ahmed Aboutaleb. The Dutch and Indonesian port cities have been twin towns of each other since 1983.

From November 6, 2016 until April 30, 2017 artwork by (among others) Jeroen Hermkens can be seen in the exposition “De Getekende Stad” (“The Drawn City”) in the Utrecht Archives. (Hamburgerstraat 28, free access).

For the Grand Départ of the Tour de France in July of 2015, Jeroen Hermkens has created several litographs and painting. The Zadelstraat lithograph has been used for the label of a special edition Tour wine.

From Februari 1 until July 1, 2015, Jeroen Hermkens will be artist in residence at the Jerusalem Chapel in the city of Gouda. He will be working on a series of cityscapes of Gouda, as well as a series of oil painting portraits of Gouda women. The chapel is open for visitors Tue-Sun, 11am-5pm.
Abroad
In January of 2015, Jeroen has taught several masterclasses at art academies in Jakarta (Java, Indonesia). His expositions, which will be showcased in the Erasmushuis until mid March, will continue elsewhere on Java.
